The ASSOCIATION DE LA SOMMELLERIE INTERNATIONALE (ASI) was established in France in 1969. It is a non-profit international association of sommeliers. ASI is overseen by a President and a Board elected by the members of the General Assembly for a period of three years. Only two consecutive terms of presidency are allowed by the By-laws.

The current president, Andrés Rosberg, Argentina, was elected in 2017. He is the 13th president of ASI, and the first one from the Americas. Andrés took over from Shinya Tasaki, Japan, Best Sommelier of the World 1995.

The next election will take place in 2020.
